Hello and welcome to DC Universe RPG. Below is a list of rules that all members are expected to abide to upon joining the forum. Please read them carefully. They are as followed:
1.) Respect!
I don't expect everyone who comes here to get along, but I do expect people to respect the forum and keep personal disputes off of it. If you're having a problem with another member and can't settle it on your own, please contact a member of staff and we will help you.
2.) First Name & Last Name!
When creating a character please use that character's first and last name. For example, "Clark Kent" instead of "Superman." If your character only has a single alias like Bane of The Joker, then don't worry about it.
3.) Character Rules!
A single user can play as many characters as they see fit that they can handle. We allow both canon and original characters to be played. An original character must not be a rip off of an existing canon. When making the history for a canon character please DO NOT rip off the Wiki. Use your own words when writing your bio. Also, we ask that before you make your next character, please have at least ten posts with your previous character. This is to keep people from just making character after character and not posting as any of them. You do not have to make a different account for another character. We have a plugin that will allow you to switch between characters when posting.
4.) Canon Characters
When making a Canon Character we allow you to make any version of that character you wish and use any face claim you wish. Meaning that a character can be solely based off their comic book version, movie version, animated version, or live action TV version. Yes, we allow DC characters from the DCEU and Arrowverse.
5.) Face Claims!
When making a character you MUST have a celebrity face claim. These can be of actors/actresses or models. Now say you're being Kara Zor-El, you do not need to use any of the actors who have played that role up to this point, but you're welcome to any one of them. You can choose another actor to represent that character. This goes especially true for canons who have never been played by an actor in a live action movie or show. Use who you wish.
6.) Godmodding!
This is probably a loaded thing to say considering how powerful some of the DCU characters are in canon, but we are to have absolutely no godmodding! Godmodding is when you have an all powerful perfect character with no flaws or weaknesses. This is simply not how role-playing works. Please give your character weaknesses and flaws. Even Superman has weaknesses.
7.) Powerplaying!
Another form of godmodding on the board is when you describe an attack, say it hit, and then say how much damage it did. Don't do it! Please allow characters to dodge/block/counter your attack. Alternatively, don't dodge everything as that can be seen as another form of godmodding.
8.) Meta-Gaming!
The third form of godmodding is when you take information you learned OOC (out of the caracter) and use it in IC context (in character). Don't do it! All information your character knows must be explained in-game.
9.) No Killing!
People work hard on their characters, so having them killed off unexpectedly can suck. Therefore no killing off a person's character without first the consent of the player, and if it's a canon character, the consent of the main admin.
10.) Have Fun!
The most imporantant rule. Have fun! We made this site to have a place to hang out and relax and forget about our problems in the real world. So, keep personal drama off the site. We have no word count and no activity requirement. Come on and post when you can as often as you can. And once again welcome to DC Universe RPG Thanks for reading.
